Rubaiyat owes its existence to a bottle of wine from the Napa Valley.  Kim and Andy Bonnet were in California, sharing a bottle of Cakebread Cellars Rubaiyat wine.  They didn't know anything then about the Rubaiyat written by Persian poet Omar Khayyam, but the wine inspired them.  The poems are a testimony to living life to its fullest--with the help of good food and wine and the joy they can bring to life.

So when the Bonnets got serious about opening their own restaurant, they knew what they wanted to call it--as well as the kind of restaurant it would be.  Now Rubaiyat is open in Decorah with an eclectic gourmet menu and a full menu of over 200 varieties of wine personally selected by the Bonnets.
